Our favourite songs

We will play our favourite songs … live. It’s a concert for our friends and family. I don’t know how many other people will come. I learn bass and background singing for more than thirty songs. I am rehearsing since two months. I love the songs, it’s a really beautiful set and our playing is not bad.

The concert is at April 29th. I am very exited.

Healing

I have a torn meniskus. It happened last December, but my knee started to hurt in March, when I was training for the run. I thought I need more training and massage. The fact was, I had two cysts and water in my knee joint. I couldn’t walk and sleep for days without pain. It was horrible. I couldn’t move for days.

I read a lot about it and started to train my muscles and my joint. I used bandages and bought a used vibration plate.

I stopped dancing completely, but started slowly with yoga and then contemporary dance again. It get better and better and now I am free from pain. I am thinking about dancing ballet again.

The reason my meniskus torned was because I started to learn Irish Dance, especially hard shoe dance. I had a lot of fun, that was a very short intermezzo.

Hello Blog

I am not sure if I will write here more than just some posts. I like to write down what I am doing and thinking, just for fun and to order my thoughts. Most of the time – besides my nine-to-five-job and family time – I dance and make music (I listen to music all the time). I also read books for my concentration.

I recently discovered Shanties and Irish Dance. I dance since eight years, besides ballet for training and technique. My first goal is to learn the Maggie Pickie, a Sean nós dance. Edwina Guckian offers a good video tutorial. To get into this style I make this footwork my daily habit. Dancing is not only practice, but also making it a habit.
